O2 iPhone WiFi to include BT OpenZone

btopenzone
According to MacWorld O2 has quietly improved its WiFi hotspot deal with addition of BT OpenZone. Currently UK WiFi coverage is covered by The Cloud, but with the addition of BT OpenZone, O2's iPhone customers should have access to high speed internet access in most towns and cities. This extra coverage will benefit those who choose not to upgrade their 1st Gen iPhone's to the new 3G one.

O2 UK 3G iPhone Pricing Announced

o2-iphone
O2 now have pricing on their website for the new 3G iPhone, and the prices are better than expected for the UK. It is FREE on some tariffs, with the 8GB version costing no more that £99, and the 16GB version costing no more than £159. These are bargain prices, and if you are an existing iPhone owner you can upgrade to the new 3G iPhone for FREE on some tariffs, or an upgrade fee on others. The bad news is that it looks like anyone with O2, but who is not an iPhone owner will have to wait until their existing plan is up for renewal, which is a shame as with the previous model any O2 customer could upgrade their existing tariff before the end of the talk plan you were on.

Update: The iPhone will be available in the UK on pay-as-you-go. There are no prices listed on O2's website yet, but we will post as soon as there is some news on pricing.
